Come one! Come all! We are having a parade! The event is a fabulous parade of people from around the globe celebrating the diversity and multi-culturalism of our area. It isn't a traditional parade, but an informal promenade around the festival site, culminating in our welcome ceremony.
Individuals and organizations in ethnic dress representing countries from around the world are invited to join in the parade. Colorful non-ethnic community groups are also welcome.
• Come in traditional dress
• Bring flags or banners (but no political statements please) that announce your group's name
**This is a walking parade. NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED. The festival site isn’t wide enough for vehicles. If you have recorded music you must put it in a battery operated boombox on a cart. Live music is encouraged.
WHERE to COME: Gather at 1:00 for a 1:30 parade at the parking lot of 51 Mannakee Street next to the festival site (Montgomery College, Rockville).
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: The World of Montgomery Festival is an annual event
organized by Montgomery County with the mission of celebrating, exploring and sharing the diverse cultural heritages of County residents.
