Description
PAPIs.io '14 is the 1st International Conference on Predictive APIs and Predictive Apps — the "next big thing in app development”, according to Forrester.
The first day of PAPIs will consist of tutorials on leading tools/services/APIs that make it easier to create and deploy your own predictive APIs and predictive apps: BigML, Dataiku, Indico, Intuitics, Openscoring, PredicionIO, Rapidminer, Yhat. You’ll learn how to use these products through hands-on tutorial sessions that will feature concrete case studies. To top it all we’ll have Jeroen Janssens, author of Data Science at the Command Line, give an exclusive tutorial on using several of these tools to make predictions from the command line. At the end of the day you’ll be ready to use them at our Hack Night fuelled by code, beer and patatas bravas! (free separate registration)
On the second day of the conference you will hear expert perspectives from companies that are deploying a wide array of predictive apps. Presentations will be practical and will fit within the following 4 categories: showcases of innovative real-world uses of Machine Learning (“Showcases"), challenges in creating and deploying predictive APIs and apps (“Challenges”), demos/stories of how to simply build predictive apps ("Predictive For All”), and demos of tools applied to concrete predictive use cases ("Tools In Action”). In addition, we will have a keynote by Misha Bilenko, Principal Researcher at Microsoft, a keynote by Andy Thurai, IBM Program Director for API, IoT and Connected Cloud, and a panel discussion on the future of predictive APIs.
Check out the list of speakers and schedule on Lanyrd (the schedule is subject to last minute changes).
All tickets give access to both days of the conference (Tutorials and Main Sessions). They include breakfast and lunch on both days as well as coffee every morning and afternoon.
Please register separately for the Hackathon on Monday evening and for the after-party on Tuesday evening (both events free).
