Join the Sarpy County Museum and the Sump Memorial Library via Zoom on Tuesday, July 28th at 7pm as we hear from Ben Justman, Executive Director of the Sarpy County Museum. This free event, held digitally, is open to the public. Justman will be talking about the history of Papillion and will highlight the first fifty years of the community’s history.
The program is free and open to the public but signing up through eventbrite is strongly encouraged. Zoom information will be e-mailed out prior to the event.
About the speaker:
Always having a passion for history, Ben Justman attended Central College in Pella, IA for his BA in History and obtained his MA in History from Western Illinois University. As the Executive Director of the Sarpy County Museum, Ben has been involved in relocating and restoring a Union Pacific train caboose, coordinating the local display of a Smithsonian Institution exhibit on the history of jobs in America, provided dozens of lectures, including original research on Sarpy County’s military veterans and given museum tours to thousands of area schoolchildren. His prior experience involved working with local history museums as well as Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and the Imperial War Museum in London. More recently, Ben was named the 2018 Person of the Year by the Bellevue Leader. He lives in Papillion with his fiancé Jeannette and their yellow lab, Barley.
