Paper Cutting Around the World Workshop with long-time art educator Leslie A. Miller, who discovered this very human craft while teaching elementary school art classes.
Leslie will be at on site from 11 AM until 3 PM with examples of this interesting craft from many places. Indeed, in most countries, each area of the country has it’s own special form of paper cutting. We will discover these ancient forms, modern takes, and its use in our media and art today.
Several materials and tools will be available for your use and experimentation...did we say experimentation? If you have no knowledge of this craft, or if you are an expert, purchased some, or have a favorite tool, from tiny scissors to sheep cutting shears. Come share, experience and learn.
Will you form a card, a creation for your wall? a decoration for an egg (!), or ornamentation for your house, as you will find in many houses around the world? There are no rules, or regulations except discovering what is possible. Join us!
