Event description

Description

The 27th Pana'ewa Stampede Rodeo will be held over President's Day Weekend on February 16-17-18, 2019 at the Pana'ewa Equestrian Center just outside of Hilo, Hawaii. The Rodeo grounds is located at 800 Stainbeck Hwy which just off of Hwy 11 between Hilo and Keaau on the Island of Hawaii, also known as the 'Big Island'. It starts at 12 Noon on Saturday and at 11:00 AM on Sunday and Monday and usually goes until 4:00 PM each day.

This family fun events features all the usual exciting rodeo events: Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding with Paniolo cowboys, cowgirls and our Keiki (youth) from throughout the State of Hawaii and Mainland US. Our Rodeo features unique events done only in Hawaii called PooWai'U and Double Mugging.

This Rodeo is famous for it's annual events that allow for the spectators to 'play' with the Bulls in Cowboy Poker, Beach Ball Hula Bulls, Bull Run or Knocker Bulls. These dangerous events always attracts those who are willing to risk their lives to win $500.00! To qualify to compete with the Bulls in the Arena, you must prove you are over 18 years old and appear to be sane and sober when signing the waiver.

In addtion to Rodeo skills in the Arena, we have world famous Rodeo Clown JJ Harrison, and Rodeo Annoucner Justin McKee coming in from the Northwest to keep things jumping! Plus, great 'local' food and craft sales, Rodeo T-Shirt & Hat sales and a Paniolo "Hawaiian Cowboy" Cultural Tent.

So join in, on President's Weekend, to see an Hawaiian Style Rodeo, done no were else in the world!
