Palmer Woods 2022 Holiday Home Tour & Soirée

You are invited to celebrate the holiday season at the 2022 Palmer Woods Holiday Home Tour & Soirée, a spectacular tour of five fabulous, diverse homes plus the Soirée home, festively decorated for the season, including:

• A grand, light-filled 1923 Tudor Revival designed by architect Alvin E. Harley, which has been lovingly restored and retains its magnificent original features throughout;
• A stunning 1917 Tudor Revival home, newly renovated with tasteful design and modern conveniences;
• A stately English Country Cottage in the Tudor Revival style, designed in 1924 by the Frazer-Couzens Building Company, with elegant interior spaces and a newly renovated kitchen;
• A beautiful home built in 1928 by William J. Malloy, a classic Tudor Revival home with a comfortable, cottagey feel while boasting extensive original architectural elements;
• A mid-century home built in 1953, fabulously decorated with furnishings of the era, with original design elements and a basement that has been transformed into an elaborate tiki lounge;
• Soirée Home: A handsome 1925 estate designed by architect Clarence E. Day, and built for owner of the Detroit Tigers, Walter O. Briggs and family, featuring original details throughout.

At the Soirée, enjoy live music featuring a mix of jazz, holiday music, and more. We will serve delicious cuisine prepared by a local chef, with an array of gourmet food and sumptuous desserts, as well as a plentiful selection of libations to quench your thirst and lighten your mood! The Soirée will be held on two very spacious levels of the home that will allow for distancing and safety.

Essential Information:

• The tours are organized in timed shifts to help prevent crowding and provide a safer and more enjoyable experience.
• The tour will be followed by a Soirée at one of our larger and most resplendent estates—and one of the most storied homes in Palmer Woods.
• We will have door-to-door shuttles to each home starting at the 12th Precinct Police Station at 1441 W. Seven Mile Rd. (across from Palmer Woods), where you can securely park your car.
• The number of attendees will be limited, so early ticket purchase is advised.

You will receive an email the week prior to the event with updated directions where to park and how to travel to each home . You may be asked to remove your shoes when you enter each home (depending on the weather). Please bring slippers or socks to wear in the homes and a bag to carry your shoes.
