This three-day course is designed for individuals who have had previous latent print comparison instruction and have been employed as a latent print examiner for at least one year. Students will be taught the concepts and methods of comparing complex, difficult latent palm prints to known palm prints. Instruction will be based on the forensic community’s current and accepted practices in friction ridge detail comparisons of palm prints. Practical exercises will be designed to challenge each participant at their own level of expertise, allowing them to progress to more difficult assignments and tasks as their skills improve. The techniques presented in class will assist in manual and automated palm print searches.
