Pairings No. 2 - Wine and Fine Foods Fundraiser
Join us for the second annual Pairings event on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Akiyama Wellness Center in San Jose's Japantown from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Please mark your calendar and plan on enjoying an afternoon of fine wine, exquisite food, and entertainment.
Fine wines, award-winning and hand-crafted from Chateau Marie Antoinette (Morgan Hill), Fenestra Winery (Livermore), and Sunset Cellars (Suisun Valley) will be featured with sommeliers from the wineries available to speak about their wines.
Bay Area local celebrity chefs and restaurateurs, Royce Mori (The Red Crane), Steve Futagaki (Yuki Sushi), Shiro Kubota (Kubota's, Gombei) are returning to this event, and will be joined by Dale Yoshihara and Yih Chuang (Kyoto Palace). See the menu items being prepared for this event.

Yu-Ai Kai Japanese American Community Senior Service, a nonprofit senior center located in historic Japantown San Jose, is committed to serving seniors with an array of activities, programs, and services.
We offer a well-balanced senior day care program, a nutritious lunch service, social services, and a variety of classes, activities and trips for seniors, designed around our Healthy Aging Initiative.
Serving our seniors with Friendship & Love since 1974, Yu-Ai Kai currently serves 3,000+ seniors annually. While our roots are in Japanese / Japanese American culture and tradition, the programs and services are open to any senior in our community.
Yu-Ai Kai is celebrating 40 years of service in 2014. Come join us at the many events planned throughout the year.

Teppanyaki New York Steak with mushrooms and mustard sauce
Shrimp and Scallop sauteed with pineapple and avocado salsa
Smoke salmon with caper kaiware daikon
Braised Pork Belly Skewer - Garlic, Ginger, and Soy Braised Pork and Kimchee
Curry Tart - Shimeji mushrooms, sweet peas, carrots, and crispy potatoe shoestrings

Scheduled to perform during the event are Thia Konda playing the Shamisen (3-stringed Japanese musical instrument), Matt (Masato)Toshima, a guitarist who performs regularly at Studio Pink House, and Michael Yoshihara on the saxaphone. Also entertaining will be various members from the local I.B.M. (International Brotherhood of Magicians).
