Event description

Description

Please join us in Southwestern Wyoming for 3 and 5-day intensive drawing and painting workshop focused on the foundational subjects of the American West – figures, horses and the western landscape. Held on the historic Cottonwood Ranch, this workshop will be taught by western artist, Charles Dayton.

Students will be working extensively from models, live animals and diverse landscapes. Key topics include:
• Drawing figures and horses accurately
• Plein air painting techniques
• Learning how to see color and value
• Using color studies to complete a studio painting
• Developing a marketing strategy for your work

The number of participants will be limited to ensure each student has plenty of time for personalized instruction and feedback. The workshop will be geared for artists at all levels of development with an emphasis on drawing and oil painting.

Workshop fee: $350/3 day workshop and $550/5 day workshop
Lodging in the log cabin on the ranch is available. Additional activities include the Minerva Teichert art exhibit, horseback riding, fishing and hiking.
