Painting Class: PAINTED PORTRAITS (WTDP183) / Beginners and Interm.
We'll be sketching and painting the human head from some reference image today!
In this workshop we are going to paint a portrait. It can be a sort of introduction to painting for those who have never done this before and also a good excersice if you have some experience and want to ´practise.
I will give some tips on how to construct a human head, the one we will be painting, then I'll explain how to prepare the paint and apply it on the surface we chose. I suggest it be gouache, acrylics, or any other waterbased paint, unless you know already how to paint with other type of materials like oils, but I will not be teaching about them this time.*
So I will shortly explain and give tips on how to make a painting from scratch if you are a complete beginner. You'll sketch the image on your paper/canvas and then you will paint during the class.
We'll be looking more into the action of painting and see what comes out. The final result is not of so much importance as the fact of using paint, mixing colors and enjoying that if we are beginning on this activity. This is not a full draw/paint-along classes, so you won't be copying what I am doing, on the contrary you will have to use your creativity after what I showed and explained, but I will keep my second camera on to show what I am doing while you are painting. You can share what you are doing and I can answer the questions that may come up while you are painting. It may sound difficult, but you'll see it's not, you have to let it all out and trust yourself.
I suggest that you have some water based paint like acrylics or gouache (tempera) as I said before. Grab all the colors you already have although the primary colours + white can be just enough. If you only have black and white paint, it will also be ok, too. After the check out you will receive an email with a list of possible materials you may have on hand or in case you need to buy, to be able to paint.
In case you cannot get your ticket, please contact me telling me what is going on.

I make art classes (drawing, sketching and painting, collage...) mostly for beginners/intermeditae students and anyone who wants to learn different ways of drawing and painting, since there isn't only one way to do things in life. You can open your camera and microphone and participate, share what you are doing and receive some feedback if you want, not an obligation. My main goal is that you enjoy drawing and painting during the sessions, and obviously that you learn something new each time!
IMPORTANT: It's unusual that I cancel a class, but if I ever have do it for something like electricity / internet signal outage, health related or anything beyond my control, I will send you an email telling you, then later we'll arrange a new schedule that is possible to you or you can ask for a full refund.
