Event description

Description

Microbes are the cornerstone of biology and the biotechnology revolution, but can you also consider them beautiful? Join the Wisconsin Science Museum at a fundraising event designed to highlight the wonders of the microbial world!

Two UW-Madison scientists and artists, Dr. Ahna Skop and Dr. Katrina Forest, will be present to talk about their science and art.

Drs. Skop and Forest will provide images of microbes to paint, but participants can also bring images of their favorite microbe. Some suggestions include, bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeasts, mold, archae (extremophiles), protists (amoeba and paramecium) and microscopic animals (hair mites).

This event is part of the Wisconsin Science Museum Science Art contest, and all participants will be invited to enter their microbial art for the chance to win a prize and have their artwork exhibited at the museum!

Proceeds will go towards the Wisconsin Science Museum and will help fund programs such as K-12 educational outreach activites, and pop-up exhibits at libraries.

Space is limited so please register today!
