“Care Enough to Wear Pink” - 2013 Pink Heals Tour
is Coming to St. Cloud…
St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department & St. Cloud Police Department
St. Cloud, FL – City of St. Cloud, St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department (SCFR), and St. Cloud Police Rescue Department (SCPD) will host the internationally recognized “Care Enough to Wear Pink – 2013 Pink Heals Tour”, led by founder Dave Graybill.
In conjunction with the Pink Heals Tour, SCPD and SCFR will host a Public Safety Night Out, a community-oriented event, in downtown St. Cloud Oct. 4th. The goal is to bring neighbors together for a crime and public safety awareness night and promote police/fire community partnerships, health awareness and neighborhood safety. The event is free and open to the public and will feature SCPD and SCFR giveaways. Departmental staff – including command staff, firefighters and patrol officers – will be present to meet with the community.
Additionally, in order kick-off the above activities happening on Oct. 4th, the city will be turned pink with the help of St. Cloud Mayor Rebecca Borders, who will be signing a proclamation Sept. 26 during a regular council meeting at City Hall. Borders will proclaim the month of October as “Pink October” to help increase awareness and promote preventive education and early detection of cancer.
“I encourage St. Cloud residents, business owners, schools, and community leaders to join me in honoring those we have lost in the battle against cancer, lending strength to those who are fighting cancer, and helping with our pledge to educate our community about the risk factors, prevention, and early detection of all cancers,” Borders said. “Let’s join together to participate in Pink October and Public Safety Night Out in October. The evening will feature the Care Enough to Wear Pink – 2013 Pink Heals Tour, which will be hosted by our very own fire rescue and police departments. Our unity in fighting cancer and keeping our community safe is an event too important to miss!”
