Activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 2:00 p.m. on February 21st. The luncheon is at 12:00 p.m. in the Floyd Room on the 20th Floor of Twin Towers West.

Location Note: Activities for the 2017 Professional Association of Georgia Educators/Georgia Association of Educational Leaders/Georgia Association of Colleges for Teacher Education Day On Capitol Hill will occur in several places around the Georgia Capitol. The day begins in the Floyd Room of the Sloppy Floyd/Twin Towers building across from the Capitol on MLK Jr. Drive. Attendees will then cross the street and speak with legislators in the Capitol. The luncheon will occur back in the Floyd Room, Twin Towers West, 20th Floor of the Sloppy Floyd Building. For mapping directions, use 18 Capitol Square, Atlanta, GA 30334
Directions & Parking
From the South
Take I-75/85 North to exit 245 (Capitol Avenue). At the bottom of the exit ramp, continue straight through the stop sign. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Hank Aaron Drive. The Capitol will be approximately one mile down on the left.
From the North
Take I-75/85 South to exit 248A (Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive).
Bear right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. The Capitol will be on the left.
From the East
Take I-20 West to exit 58A (Capitol Avenue). Turn right on Capitol Avenue.
The Capitol will be approximately one mile down on the left.
From the West
Take I-20 East to exit 56B (Windsor St./Spring St./Stadium).
At the third light, turn left onto Central Avenue. Go to Mitchell Street and turn right. The Capitol will be two blocks down on the left.
Recommended parking is located in the following places:
- Pete Hackney lot is located on the corner of Jesse Hill Jr. (Butler Street) and Decatur Street.
- Steve Polk Plaza is located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive beside the former World of Coca-Cola.
- Underground Atlanta parking at just past the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr.Drive and Central Avenue.
- Parking lots at Georgia State University – Lot M, Lot G, Lot S, Lot N, Lot K (These lots typically have a limited number of guest spaces available, and require a walk of several blocks to the Capitol).
***There will be a charge for parking. Parking fees will vary between $5 and $15 for the day. Please be prepared to pay cash for parking as very few lots in the downtown area will accept debit/credit cards. Note, the Pete Hackney lot now accepts credit cards.
