Paella Lovers United is a small but diverse and dedicated team of Austinites committed to bringing people of all backgrounds and ages together through a unique annual event highlighting Spanish culture. The open-fire cook-off began in a backyard in East Austin with eight competing teams, and with the help of scores of volunteers, has grown into an event that attracts people from all over the world, 35+ competing teams, and over 1000 enthusiastic attendees. Our mission is to create a memorable experience that delights taste buds, feeds souls, and provides an escape from the mundane. Due to the current pandemic, however, we are forced to make some temporary changes to this year's venue, but rest assured, the same spirit lives on. However, some notable changes for this year's event include:

Smaller Paella Cook-off. 18 Team Limit (430 Person Max)

NO BYOB! TABC Rules - No outside alcohol allowed. Alcohol will be sold by the venue ONLY.

New Location: The Water Tank, 7309 McNeil Drive, Austin, TX 78729

Limited Parking. Rideshare is HIGHLY encouraged

**** A MESSAGE CONCERNING COVID-19 ****

Our 18th annual 2021 event is a go! However, due to the ongoing COVID concerns, we have no choice but to reduce this year’s capacity to a smaller scale. We at Paella Lovers United hope that all our supporters and guests have maintained safe practices as per local health guidelines and followed CDC recommendations including any necessary vaccinations. Paella Lovers United Cookoff is an outdoor event. As per the State of Texas COVID Passport Requirements, we will NOT be checking for any COVID related tests, vaccine cards or conditions. We only ask that you follow safe and conscientious health practices. And if you are sick, please stay at home. If you have purchased a ticket and have this (or any) illness, we will gladly refund your ticket (or better, give it to a friend). Let’s beat this!!!
