Event description

Description

Spend a day with Pádraig Ó Tuama on Tuesday, 12 February 2019. Pádraig inspired many SCA members and friends during the 2016 SCA Conference in Melbourne.

Now you have the opportunity to kick off your professional development for 2019 with seminars with Pádraig. He will lead two sessions across the day and you can attend one or both. The morning will focus on providing spiritual care practitioners and others with frameworks for conflict resolution – whether the conflict is interreligious, workplace or interpersonal. In the afternoon, Pádraig will lead us through a reflective retreat style session, encouraging attendees to take time to nourish their own wellbeing and strengthen their resilience.

Northern Ireland peacemaker, poet and theologian, Pádraig Ó Tuama’s work centres around themes of language, religion, conflict and art. Working fluently on the page and with groups of people from various religions and walks of life, Pádraig is a skilled speaker, teacher and group worker. His work has won acclaim in circles of poetry, politics, religion, psychotherapy and conflict analysis. He lectures, leads retreats and writes both poetry and prose. Since 2014, Pádraig has led Corrymeela, Ireland’s oldest peace and reconciliation organisation. More detail is here: https://www.corrymeela.org/about/our-community/corrymeela-community-leader

Attendees can attend for the full day or book into either the morning or afternoon sessions.
