Paddletopia is the first paddleboarding festival of its kind, it incorporates one of the best assets of living in Surfside which are our proximity to the water and sunshine year-round.
The festival is produced by Sara Liss, a local resident, journalist and event producer. Liss has a long history of partnering with the Town and producing family-friendly events designed to encourage conscious living and a healthy lifestyle.
"Paddletopia is a wonderful event aimed at encouraging the community to try new activities they may not otherwise be exposed to," said Liss. "Paddleboarding and kayaking are unique methods of enjoying our natural resources up-close in an immersive way."
Starting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tourists, visitors and residents of all ages will get the chance to participate in different activations catering to everyone's liking. For those new to paddleboarding, experts will be on hand to provide tips.
"There will be a component for both youth and adults to enjoy a weekend learning innovative ways of taking care of their mind, body and well-being," said Liss. "All community members are invited to participate and join in on the fun."
Paddletopia is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.townofsurfsidefl.gov or follow the Tourist Bureau on social media @VisitSurfside.
