Description

Do you dream of sharing the beauty of stand up paddling and yoga with your students? Does spending your days floating on water sound like a dream job?

Eligible for 25 Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance and the only SUP YTT endorsed by PSUPA, this four day in-depth paddleboard yoga teacher training covers how to safely guide your students through the basics of stand up paddling; how to navigate yoga poses while floating; water rescues; anchoring techniques in lakes, saltwater, and pools; and how to launch your SUP yoga business!

Boards and wetsuits available to rent, or provide your own.

Expect to dive head-first into:

  • Paddling technique refinement

  • Rescues

  • Teaching the basics of paddling to your students

  • Instructor-led SUP yoga classes

  • Student-led SUP yoga classes (and lots of practice teaching!)

  • Anchoring and tethering techniques

  • Understanding the water in lakes, saltwater, and pools

  • How to modify yoga poses to bring them to the board

  • The business of SUP yoga

  • Tips on hosting events and retreats

Graduates will receive a Flatwater 1 Stand Up Paddle Instructor certification from PSUPA, a paddleboard yoga instructor certification from PSUPA and Catalyst Yoga, as well as 25 continuing education hours from Yoga Alliance. Completion grants you access to the PSUPA members-only Facebook forum, an incredible resource for getting your SUP business afloat!


Student Prerequisites:

  • 200 Hour YTT Certificate (Currently working on your 200 hour? Email us and we'll chat).

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification (hands-on, not online)

  • SUP experience (Contact hello@catalystyoganw.com to discuss experience. One-on-one training to get up to speed is available.)

  • Ability to swim 200 meters

  • Physically capable of carrying and lifting 35 lbs. above head

  • Become a PSUPA member before training begins ($65 annual fee)
