Region Cadet Leadership School is an intense 5-day in-residence cadet officer training school with areas of study in Officership & Character, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Relations, Critical & Creative Thinking and Leadership Theory.
To participate, cadets must hold the grade of C/2d Lt or above.
Region Cadet Leadership School Fee:
The student fee for RCLS is $200. Students registering on or before Monday 31 October receive a $20 discount.
The activity fee for cadre and senior members is $150.
Those wishing to purchase a sleeping bag & pillow will be required to pay $20.00 at In-processing.
Participation is limited. All students are encouraged to register early in order to ensure space is available. Registration closes at midnight on Thursday 1 December 2016 or when all seats have been filled.
Additional RCLS Information:
Cadet students will report for in-processing at 1600 (4:00 pm) on Monday 26 December 2016. Required forms will include the CAPF-31 (Application for Special Activity), CAPF-160 (Health History), CAPF-161 (Emergency Information). All forms must be complete and properly signed. All cadets 18 or older must meet the CAP Cadet Protection requirement.
Cadets, cadre or senior members arriving via commercial airline, will be required to provide flight arrival and departure in order to have CAP transportation available. Airline, Flight number, arrival and departure times are to be emailed to Lt Col Jay Roberts, RCLS Project Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Graduation is planned for 0900 (9:00 am) on Saturday 31 December. Students should expect to be released by 1100 (11:00 am). It is recommended return flight arrangements be made no earlier than 1430 (2:30 pm) that day.
Billeting will be in “Troop Barracks” at Camp Murray. Students, cadre, and Senior Member staff are encouraged to bring sleeping bags with pillow or twin sheets, blanket and pillow. Those traveling via commercial airlines or not wishing to bring those items may purchase them for an additional $20.00 charge.
Meals at the Joint Base Lewis - McChord Dining Facility (DFAC) are priced on an “Ala Cart” basis. Participants will be issued cash to pay for meals.
The working uniform of the day will be the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) or the Airman Battle Dress Uniform (ABU). This is a “Winter Activity” therefore, authorized outwear for the uniform is encouraged. PT gear should include sweat pants/shirt with shorts, t-shirt and athletic shoes. The USAF Blue Uniform with Service Coat will be required as well (See Packing List for details).

The Washington Wing of the Civil Air Patrol - United States Air Force Auxiliary includes 1340 members assigned to 28 squadrons throughout the state. 733 senior member officers and NCOs and 607 cadets serve their communities, state and nation on a daily basis by providing Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and youth leadership through its cadet program.
