Event description

Description

Pacific Atrocities Education is pleased to announce its first annual Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, a 48 hours weekend event designed to improve content on Pacific Asia War. and encourage new editors. It will be a chance for us to ensure that the truth of our history and culture is included in Wikipedia.

After our edit-a-thon, we will have a great party celebration afterward. Please pick the shift most relevant to you and see you there! As well as at the party!

Why is Wikipedia important?
Wikipedia is used as a free version of the encyclopedia. It is often one of the first things that show up when anyone searches for anything on the internet. Students use it for their report and some people even use it without fact-checking. As a community, we should ensure that it is the most accurate to our history and our truths.

Why do some people think Wikipedia is bad?
Wikipedia has a reputation for being unreliable at times because it is done by the public. It has no editing standards and anyone can change anything at any time. It is a truly open source information hub. It is often very hard to tell which Wikipedia article is good and which one is bad, so let’s try to do our best to make it as accurate as possible.

Can I come by? I had never edited a Wikipedia page?
Of course! Our goal is not only to edit, but also to provide tools for people to learn how to edit Wikipedia page themselves.
