PACEpro Seminar: Leveraging Your EQ
Sat, April 8, 2017, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM CDT
Are you overwhelmed with emotion when met with a challenge? Do you find difficulty in identifying your own or other people's emotions? There's no better time than now to begin improving your emotional quotient (EQ). From parenting to leading in organizations and beyond, emotional intelligence has become a "go-to" resource for enhancing inter/intrapersonal relations. Adding it to your toolkit can help you navigate everyday challenges, both personally and professionally.
Through this seminar you will:
Spark or add to your desire to further explore and critically examine emotional intelligence (EI) as a construct.
Identify a need to employ EI through mock scenarios/demonstrations.
Become more cognizant of your own emotions and how you impact others.
Learn to be more attuned to others' emotions and their impact.
Set goals and initiate an action plan for implementing EI as a tool for improving personal and professional interactions.
Come with a healthy dose of curiosity, and leave ready to LEVERAGE YOUR EQ!

PACEpro seminars are unique opportunities to work with your fellow students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty, and staff. You will participate in a series of interdisciplinary seminars that give all our students a chance to apply their learning to unique issues, reflect and discuss with each other, get to know instructors, find mentors, and spark the creativity to solve community and world problems.
The format of the seminars is loosely based on the Socratic Seminar, named after the philosopher Socrates, who taught by asking questions.
