Description

Welcome to the 3rd Annual P-Town Throwdown! This is a Guy/Girl Team competition for athletes of all ability levels. We strive to "Test the best while making it fun for the rest!"

As always, this is half competition, half party. Free Sweet T-shirt, Food, DJ, trained judges with standards, door prizes, workouts and movements you don't typically train in your daily WOD, and FUN.

What are the WODs?

WOD #1

For time: with a 10 min. time cap.

RX

--200 ft. Farmers Carry (2 x 110#)

60 Wall Ball Shots 10#

Both athletes are throwing to a 10 ft. target


On 3,2,1,Go! One athlete may begin the 10# wall ball shots while the other athlete begins the farmers carry, out 100ft. and back 100ft. Upon returning with the farmers carry both athletes may switch as necessary to complete the 60 wall ball shots. Once the 60 is complete, one athlete must farmers carry again before returning to help with the 50 wall ball shots and so on until the team has completed the last 30 wall ball shots at which time the final farmers carry must be completed.

WOD #2

In 8 minutes, find a max for the complex:

1 Clean + 1 Hang Clean + 1 Jerk


On 3,2,1,Go! The female athlete goes first while the male athlete rests and/or helps with the weights. She may take as long as necessary to find her 1RM of the complex at which time the male athlete may load his bar and find his 1RM. You get as many attempts as necessary. Both athletes must have their lifts completed within the 8 minute cap.


The clean is from the floor, no deadlift / hang clean allowed. It may be a power or squat clean.

During the hang clean, the bar must never pass below the knees. It may be a hang squat clean or hang power clean.

The jerk is shoulder-to-overhead with the weight controlled. It may be a shoulder press, push press, power jerk, or split jerk.

On 3,2,1,GO! One athlete will begin their 10 burpee-box-overs. Open standards on this movement. Once done with their 10, the box will be flipped to the next height and that athlete may immediately begin their burpee-box-overs. After the 60th burpee-box-over is completed, one athlete, you choose, may begin the row. Switch as necessary to finish the 60 calories. Once done, your next 60 burpee-box-overs must be completed in the same order as before. It’s up to you who starts the burpees at the very beginning, as long as you alternate every 10.

RX is Open RX standards, so must jump with 2 feet.

Scaled is Open Scaled standards, so step-ups are allowed as long as both feet touch the top of the box together at some point.


Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Must be 18+ unless a parent can sign your waiver and be in attendance.

What can I bring into the event?

Bring your tents, chairs, coolers, bags, whatever. There's a 3,000 sq/ft warmup / cooldown area just for the competitors and coaches.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. You will check in at our registration table upon arrival.

Sure. Just e-mail me letting me know ahead of time.
