Event description
Songwriting Workshop set for October 18th in Mandeville

About this Event

Budding songwriters have a great opportunity coming up October 18 in Mandeville, Louisiana. For the small fee of $10, they can attend a workshop conducted by top musical talent and a key music industry attorney brought in by the Ozone Music Education Foundation.

The workshop, set for 6-8 p.m. upstairs at The Old Rail Brewing Company Restaurant at 639 Girod Street in Old Mandeville, is designed to help attendees learn not only how to write songs, but also how to handle the business and legal issues surrounding their work. Those attending will learn from:

Frank Myers: A highly-experienced and respected performer and songwriter, Myers has worked with Marie Osmond, Eddie Raven, Crystal Gayle, and many more, and received a Grammy for co-writing the smash 1995 hit “I Swear.”

Mark Mackay: This Nashville songwriter and performer is a noted songwriter, has appeared with artists such as Travis Tritt, and was named one of the “Top 100 National Live Acts” by Music Connection magazine.

Edgar “Dino” Gankendorff: Selected by OffBeat Magazine in 2003 as “Best Music Attorney,” Gankendorff has represented such notables as Dr. John and Trombone Shorty. He will be talking about the business and legal issues songwriters need to know.

This is a tremendous opportunity to learn from experts at a staggering discount, as well as hear songwriter rounds following the educational part of the program. For tickets and more information, visit the foundation’s website at www.ozonemusic.org.
