Event description
This year's Showcase will feature TV star and songwriter John Schneider and award-winning songwriter Anna Nalick.

About this Event

TV star and songwriter John Schneider and award-winning songwriter Anna Nalick will be headlining the showcase performance at the Ozone Music Festival.

Nalick is perhaps best known for her platinum single “Breathe (2 a.m.),” featured on her album “Wreck of the Day,” first released in 2004. The 35-year-old, who in 2006 was voted “AC Female Artist of the Year,” followed up with subsequent albums in 2011 and 2017.

Schneider, the actor who played Bo Duke in the tv show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” has also been a singer and songwriter for decades. During that time, he has released nine albums and more than a dozen singles, including the hits “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know,” “Country Girls,” and You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”

The showcase performances will be held during the first evening of the two-day festival, from 8-11 p.m. at Lafitte Market, located at 698 Lafitte Street in Mandeville. Tickets at $44 may be purchased online at the foundation’s website, www.Ozonemusic.org. Proceeds go to the nonprofit foundation’s efforts to further music education, professional development of songwriters and to further the area’s development as a key regional music center.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have this lineup of talent for the second year of our festival,” Foundation Vice President Michael Blache said. “Not only do we have Mr. Schneider and Ms. Nalick, but we also have the opportunity to showcase the talents of Mark McKay, C.J. Solar, Paul Childers, Gary Baker, and our president, Greg Barnhill, along with a host of other fine local and regional songwriters. This is going to be a signature event for the Louisiana music community.”

The artists will perform Saturday from 8 until 11 p.m. as the "Showcase" portion of the two-day festival, which will be held Oct. 19 and 20 on more than four stages in the Old Mandeville area. In total more than 100 songwriters and performers from around the country will be performing their works, attending workshops and building contacts at the festival, which is free except for the Saturday night showcase performance. Food and drinks will be available at multiple locations.
