Event description

Description

The theme for the next Oxford Business Forum is ‘the challenges and opportunities facing the Oxfordshire economy.’

We will be joined by a range of speakers, including Graeme Chaplin of the Bank of England. Graeme will provide a range of insights into national economic conditions, and consider current growth forecasts in light of past trends and performance. This will be followed by a wider discussion around how local businesses are responding to this at the local level.

Nigel Tipple, Chief Executive of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) will then set out likely spending priorities on infrastructure projects and investment to drive economic growth and create jobs. The leaders of Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council, Cllr Bob Price and Cllr Ian Hudspeth will then highlight the likely headlines from both council's proposed budget and spending priorities for 2018/19. Our speakers would like to hear the views of the business community as part of an open and informed discussion.

The event is jointly promoted by Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council and Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP).
