Event description
Stories have a power to inspire others. Hone your leadership capacity by improving your communication skills during this series of workshops

About this Event

Do you see yourself in a leadership role but don't know how to get there? Are you looking to improve how to share your story at interviews or other leadership settings? Are you from an under-represented community who is looking for support to become a community leader? If you answered yes to one of these questions, join us for the Own Your Voice: a Storytelling Workshop Series.

This workshop series is part of the Diversity in Leadership Project to engage diverse voices in community leadership roles.

At Own Your Voice: A Storytelling Workshop Series, participants will be given the opportunity to identify and own their personal narratives. On each of the three workshop days, participants will further advance their communication skills, culminating in a presentation of their stories.

During the workshop series, participants will take part in guided explorations, creative expression and mindfulness exercises to reflect on their legacy, their journey, their trials, triumphs and more. The goal of the workshop is to help participants discover and embrace their story. This series aims to spark meaningful conversations, foster connections for those who are interested in leadership roles in their communities.

It is recommended for participants to attend all three sessions.

Priority will be given to individuals who identify from diverse under-represented groups (including but not limited to Black, Indigenous and people of colour; persons with disabilities; youth; newcomers and immigrants to Canada; LGBTQ2SI+, etc.) and those who live in the Tri-Cities area. Confirmation details will be provided closer to the date.
