Off Roading meets Adventure Travel. This course is much more than an off road driving course. It has tons of information and hands on training that goes far beyond trail riding and what other courses cover. This course is about travelling far into the wilderness, being self sufficient with your vehicle and going farther than you ever thought before.
This course provides students with the basic knowledge required to safely and confidently negotiate their vehicle off-road. This class is specifically designed for novice off-road drivers, experienced off-road drivers looking for a more complete standard of practices, and Expedition Leaders.
Students will learn the fundamentals including driving in hazards, adverse weather conditions, and obstacle crossing. Students will also learn how to properly prepare a vehicle for overland travel as well as safety, emergency responses, repair, and extraction methods.
In depth subjects such as temporary/improvised repairs, expedition checklists, remote travel planning, code reading and interpretation in the field, camp selection, fording, self extraction, specialized maintenance, review of gear and equipment will be covered.
Technicians familiar with off road driving and an extremely in depth knowledge of modern vehicles and equipment will provide cutting edge information and hands on information. Instructors familiar with remote wilderness travel will go far beyond a basic 4×4 off roading course.
This course offers students both classroom and practical experience in the garage. No driving in this course. The information in this course goes far beyond a driving course and will greatly expand you driving abilities. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this course won’t be as valuable as a driving course, it is much more.
