Join us for our Fall 2019 Outstanding Women in Science Seminar Series presenting SreyRam Kuy, MD, MHS, FACs, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Quality & Safety and Surgeon, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Dr. Kuy's Short Biography:

SreyRam Kuy, MD, MHS, FACS is a practicing general surgeon, healthcare executive & quality improvement researcher. She currently serves as Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Quality & Safety for VISN 16 and Staff Surgeon at the Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kuy has advocated passionately for women and girls; as a mentor and role model, as a policy maker and as a leader in her field. Dr. Kuy has mentored numerous high school, college and medical students, as well as surgical residents. She is the recipient of the American College of Surgeons “Mary Edwards Walker Inspiring Woman in Surgery Award”, President George H. W. Bush’s “Points of Lights Award”, Oregon Health & Sciences University “Early Career Achievement Alumni Award” for her work to improve healthcare for low income Medicaid women, L’Oréal Paris’ “Women of Worth” award for her community service supporting wounded veterans, RandomActs.org’s “Caught in the Act” national public service award, Business Report’s 40 Under 40 Award for her efforts to increase healthcare access for Medicaid patients, Ford Family Foundation’s “Gerald E. Bruce Award” for her work to improve healthcare quality and access for veterans and was named by Modern Healthcare as one of the top “Minority Healthcare Executives to Watch”. A common thread is her service to such vulnerable and underserved populations as veterans and mothers on Medicaid, and her advocacy for the advancement of women in STEM.
