Outside the Box is a personal development programme about sex and relationships for young people that aims to prevent sexual exploitation. It is specifically targeted at vulnerable young people and has been developed by the Sex Education Forum and National Children’s Bureau through funding from Comic Relief. The Outside the Box facilitator training course runs over two-days and is for professionals who have experience of working with vulnerable young people who want to develop their knowledge of sex and relationships issues. The training aims to enable practitioners to be more confident in engaging young people in discussions about sex and sexually exploitative relationships and to practice using Outside the Box, with opportunities for feedback.
The course will provide you with the:
- Confidence and skills to facilitate Outside the Box effectively and safely with young people
- Understanding of best practice in delivering sex and relationships education with vulnerable young people
- Practice using a range of methods and approaches to engage young people
- Identification of practical strategies for delivering Outside the Box in a relevant setting, including safeguarding considerations
Cost: £375.00 for first booking (includes a copy of the teaching pack and accompanying resources). Additional members of staff from the same school/youth setting are £120.00 (max 2 per school).
