About this event

This workshop will teach you how to create beautiful portrait lighting outside. Learn the fundamental tools and techniques needed to be successful.
Tom will go over the use of reflectors, off camera speed lights, radio control triggers, powerful studio lighting outside. He will also teach you the importance of using the right modifiers with your off-camera lighting source and the options available to meet those needs. How to balance ambient light using flash, learn how to shoot into the backlight which is a popular technique used by many portrait photographers.
From 1pm to 3pm Tom will bring you into the classroom and teach you some basic retouching technique using the latest version of Adobe CC, if you have a laptop and want to follow along I strongly recommend you do so even if you do not have the current version you will still learn from the session. Laptop is not required; I will have the illustrations live on a large flat screen using images we shot earlier in the day, the objective is to edit an image into a sellable product.
What to Bring: Please bring your camera, 70-200mm focal length and a speedlight if you have one. These items work best, but not necessary. You should have a basic knowledge of your camera settings, including shutter, aperture and ISO and how to change them in your camera.
What to expect: We will be working with a model and everyone will have a chance to shoot and participate using your own cameras. We have a limited number of transmitters available and will be sharing. There will be a 1/2 lunch break
