Event description

Description

Professor Angel Falcon, Outreach Librarian at Bronx Community College, CUNY will be presenting about the ins and outs of hosting the IDNYC program at Bronx Community College Library. Beyond getting at the nuts and bolts of how to host this particular program, he will highlight some considerations for librarians in academic settings when thinking about collaborative endeavors like this which involves high levels of coordination with administration, government offices and the like.

We encourage a discussion of your libraries' experience providing Community Outreach.

About our speaker: Professor Falcon returns to librarianship after a stint as a tax lawyer. Prior to his time at law, Angel was Head of Reference and Instruction at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York and also was a Reference Librarian at Hostos Community College, CUNY. He holds a BA in Religious Studies from Yale, a MA in Theological Studies from Harvard, the JD & the MLIS from Rutgers. When not jamming degrees down his throat, Angel enjoys combat sports and martial arts.
