Outdoor Portrait Photography
Saturday, February 25, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Instructor: George Wilson
We will begin in a great location for outdoor portraits at beautiful Leu Gardens. In Part 1 of the Outdoor Portrait class we learned about the differences in focal lengths of your lens, explored the various lighting opportunities and how to manipulate the light that is available. In this workshop we will begin to use fill flash after a quick refresher of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focal lengths. We will use both on and off camera flash, so if you have a hot shoe mounted flash, bring it along-if not, there will be a couple units to share. Learn how to pose your subjects in attractive ways, choose pleasing backgrounds and avoid harsh shadows, find the right light for great exposures, and how to work with your subject for great smiles and candid moments. Most of all we will learn how to manually use ourflashes, thus developing a better understanding ofthe automatic or TTL setting. This will be a shooting class with a live “subject”. This class is perfect for those who are looking to improve their portrait photos of children, family, pets and more! It is recommended that you have previously attended the Outdoor or Indoor Portrait Class.
George Wilson was born and raised in Massachusetts and now makes Central Florida his home. A self-taught photographer, his professional career soon brought editorial work with organizations such as The Springfield Union News and The Associated Press. He is now in the process of creating a body of work dedicated to the wilderness areas of Central Florida needing protection, and also teaches classes at Walt Disney World and for the City of Orlando.
Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.
