Sat, April 8, 2017, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM MDT
Out-of-school time providers are increasingly finding theselves on the front lines of public health and safety in addition to being a primary provider of recreation services. Playing at times the part of educator, counselor, security officer and nurturer, there are many hats to wear.To be best equipped to serve those in their care, providers need both tools and connection to resources. This summit is designed for those who provide direct service to youth ages K-Grade 8, during times when they are not in school, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings and winter holidays and summer months. Receive practical information from area experts that is pertinent to the work and network with fellow providers, while also connecting with area vendors that provide services of interest and need to the local youth population.
There will be nine workshops offered within three concurrent sessions under the topics of programming, behavorial health and nutrition/physical activity.
In addition, a keynote speaker from a prominent, national organization will kick off the event.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
