MEET THE ARTISTS
Shana Oshiro is a soprano, specializing in art song, spirituals and sacred music with vast experience in opera, musical theatre, jazz, and more. She has appeared with multiple local theatre companies in featured and leading roles, as well as in major productions with Opera Philadelphia and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Shana’s presence as a performer has been described as “ethereal” and “captivating,” offering honest and artistically penetrating renditions of familiar and obscure works for a broad range of audience members.
Brian Bartoldus is a multi-faceted musician, composer, organist, pianist and conductor who serves throughout the greater Baltimore and Washington area. Since 2017, he has served as the Artistic Director of the Handel Choir of Baltimore, a critically acclaimed choral ensemble that presents yearly performances of Handel’s Messiah with period-instrument orchestra, as well as other major choral and choral-orchestral works.
Jodi Beder has performed with numerous classical ensembles including Princeton Symphony, Palm Beach Opera, and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and plays Baroque cello with Nina Falk in Arcovoce. She has always been a committed performer of newly composed works, and for years was a soloist in the American Festival of Microtonal Music in NYC. She earned her BA in music from Brooklyn College, attended the Mannes College Professional Studies program, and earned her PhD in music theory from CUNY. Jodi has received wide recognition for her daily cello concerts from her porch during the height of the pandemic.
