What: Our Town; Our Future consultation event for young people in Southend
Southend Borough Council is inviting young people in Southend to come and help us build a vision for Southend in 2030. We are really excited to hear what you think Southend could be like in 2030.
The Our Town, Our Future project, run by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council wants local people to help answer these questions:
- What could Southend be like in 2030?
- What are the strengths our borough can build on and the things we should work to change?
The aim is to build a vision for Southend-on-Sea, which the Council and other local organisations can use to help shape their future work.
We want to understand people’s ideas for how to make that future as bright as possible, and to explore what we can all do – as a community – to make a positive difference.
The Council is working with OPM, an independent research and community development organisation, to involve as many people in Southend-on-Sea as possible, and as part of their work OPM will be running this session with Southend Youth Council specifically for young people living in Southend.
This will be an informal enjoyable workshop where you’ll be asked to think about the ‘Southend of the future’.
You will get to have your voice heard in the vision for the future and a certificate of participation.
Who: Anyone at school or college in Southend interested in having their voice heard in the process
Where: Tickfield Centre……
When: During Half-Term on Friday 28th October 11am – 1pm
The event will be hosted by Southend Youth Council and staff involved in running the Youth Council. Rob from OPM will be facilitating the event and taking as many ideas from you as he can!
