Event description

Description

The Nashville Public Library is hosting the Third Annual "Our Story Matters Wikipedia Edit-a-thon" to contribute to articles on Wikipedia related to the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville and throughout the South. This year our focus will be on Black Education: People and Places that Inspired African American Education. We will explore the history of black public schools, local HBCUs and the educators that helped propel generations of students to greatness.

The Wikipedia training and Edit-a-thon will take place in the Special Collections Center on the second floor of the Main library downtown. Please bring a laptop with you.

Anyone interested in helping us improve wikipedia pages related to the African American history in Nashville and Tennessee is welcome, from Beginners to Experts!

If you haven't edited Wikipedia before, please create an account using the link in the upper right hand corner of the wikipedia homepage prior to the event date. We will provide training at the event for first-time editors.

Once you are have created an account, RSVP to the event on the MeetUp page.
