Jean-Marie was lucky to have a mum - still alive at almost 98 - and two grandmothers who were exceptional cooks and a great-grandmother who was also an excellent gardener and famous for her conserves.
His blog was in part started to document Jean-Marie's abilities to cook for his family and friends, from a simple omelette to a more elaborate dish out of one of his cookbooks, or recreating a recipe from one of of his favourite restaurant. Check it out here www.ourfrenchimpressions.com
Jean-Marie has been asked over and over about opening a restaurant, but this has always been viewed as too big a task and commitment, So instead and by popular demand, Jean-Marie has started some cooking classes for small groups of six to sixteen people maximum.
Each of these classes will focus on one main recipe starting with a one central product, like scallops or lamb, and build on this to create a dish which will then be shared by the group around the dinner table.
We are happy to report that we are now partnering with Vive Cooking School at The Cannery in Rosebery for our next cooking class on February 21st, 2018. We will prepare a Provençal treat of bouillabaisse served as two courses, as per the tradition, and finish with some delicious madeleines. A wine from the region will be served.

The difficulty of the main dish is in the appropriate cooking of the different seafood and fish involved in the recipe.The madeleines are also trickier to master than one think.

We can accomodate a maximum of sixteeen people with a minimum of six required to run the class.
