Mission:

To build relationships with local at-risk youth and their families through Christ-centered programs designed to help them realize God’s purpose for their lives.

Vision:

To see God transform Spring Branch into a community that reflects His heart to restore broken relationships with Him and each other.

Utilizing Christ-centered programs, we provide venues whereby Christians can connect relationally with at-risk families to help realize God’s purpose for all of our lives.

History

Cornerstone Family Ministries began in 1988 as the Cornerstone Club, an outreach ministry of Spring Branch Community Church to the neighboring children of Cornerstone Chase Apartments. From a small group of singles gathering in an apartment to tutor and teach the Bible, Cornerstone has grown into a multi-faceted ministry to kids of all ages and their parents. We incorporate recreation, age-group Bible classes, tutoring and adult education. Each summer numerous students attend a Christian camp where many lives are changed.

In 2007, CFM became an independent ministry. New Community Baptist Church has graciously partnered with CFM, allowing ministry to continue on its campus at 9560 Long Point.

Today, our ministry-owned buses bring children & parents from fifteen apartment complexes to Thursday Family Night, with classes for all ages, including ESL,GED, & parenting courses for adults. Age appropriate Bible-centered children’s classes are taught by volunteers from 21 area churches. We also offer tutoring and life skills training. CFM hopes to further expand its ministry by partnering with more churches and organizations to reach under‐served areas of Spring Branch.
