OUP+OWT: Women's History Walk
Date and time
Description
Join Oakland Urban Paths and the city of Oakland Walking Tours program for a 2.5 hour walk celebrating some of the women's history in Oakland.
The walk will begin at 10AM next to the First Unitarian Church of Oakland and AAMLO (African American Museum and Library at Oakland) at 685 - 14th Street. We'll wind our way across downtown learning about some of the women and events that have shaped Oakland over the years.
As usual:
- wear good walking shoes
- bring water and a hat/sunscreen as needed
- light rain is OK, heavy rain cancels
- this is a level walk, about 2.0 miles
- parking is limited, so use transit
The walk is free, but signup is required. If the walk fills up, you can add yourself to the waiting list, and you will be automatically notified if a space opens up.
(Similarly, if you can’t make the walk, please cancel your sign up as soon as possible, so that someone else who wants to take part in the walk can attend.)
NOTE: Light rain is OK, heavy rain (like last weekend) will cancel. The current forecast for Saturday looks OK (cloudy, 0% chance of rain.) If the walk is cancelled, email will be sent to those on the signup list.
