Ottumwa Job Corps Center Thursday Tour (tour capacity of 45 visitors)
Thu, July 13, 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM CDT
The Ottumwa Job Corps Center gives weekly tours every Thursday starting at 10:00am.
Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. For eligible young people at least 16 years of age that qualify as low income, Job Corps provides the all-around skills needed to succeed in a career and in life. The Ottumwa Center offers 5 on center vocational training programs and sponsors over 30 programs at Indian Hills Community College.
Job Corps' mission is to attract eligible young people, teach them the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from Job Corps Center. The Ottumwa City Bus does stop right in front of the Ottumwa Job Corps Center.
We ask you to park across the street in the Iowa Workforce parking lot and walk across to our Welcome Center/Security Gate.
What can I bring into the event?
We are a federal facility so we ask that you do not bring any weapons (including pocket knives) or alcohol on center. You will pass through a metal detector and sign in to receive a visitor badge upon arrival.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Feel free call the organizer with any questions at 641-684-0203.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please either have a printed ticket or electronic ticket available to show at the main gate.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Please make sure that the ticket or registration matches the name. We do require you to sign in and go through security before coming on center; by having the name listed correctly on the ticket makes it easier for the check in process.
