Event description

Description

Join founder and social entrepreneur Steve Hughes, our friends from Nature's Little Recyclers, Healthy Soil Compost and his team of volunteers—and be ready to get your hands dirty! Meet other community members that are interested in gardening, farmers markets and urban agriculture, while learning more about OTIS Fresh Farm and collaborating with our gardening community.
Volunteering activities at OTIS Fresh Farm may include clean up, tool organizing, planting or transplanting seedlings, earthwork, soil and plating rows layout, among other design/built improvements to the farm.

Free training and mentorship in an urban friendly environment—join us and learn about:
• Organic waster recycling and composting
• Healthy soil preparation
• Garden layout
• Growing food
• Gardening techniques

Help us with stabilization and preparation in an urban farm ready for production to give community access to fresh vegetable and fruits. It will also give insight to those wanting to know how to grow food in an urban environment.

WHAT TO BRING?
Please bring closed shoes, sunscreen, hat, and water. Snacks/potluck contributions also welcomed.
