Event description

Description

Cervical spine fractures are serious injuries. The application of a halo system is an effective and commonly used treatment in the case of traumatic fractures or chronic disorders requiring traction along the cervical spine.

With more than 15 years experience in halo development and cervical spine immobilisation the Ossur Resolve Halo is a clinically proven MRI safe halo system. Its glass composite ring and ceramic or titanium pins are both non conductive and isolate the patient from potential current induction. This same technology also ensures clear high- resolution MRI images.

Ossur are proud to provide ongoing training this August in Auckland for practitioners involved in the fitting or care of patients in a halo. Gavin Burchall, manager of the Orthotics Department at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne will be conducting a half day training session covering all aspects of fitting a halo ring and jacket.

The Alfred Hospital is a major trauma hospital, and spinal centre, fitting up to 100 halos per year.

This event is open to surgeons, registrars, nursing staff and orthotists.

Places are strictly limited. Please RSVP early if you wish to secure a spot.
