Forest for the Trees: Shifting Perspectives on Internal Communications

What do staff members say about your schools while they are in line at the grocery store or on the soccer field?
As school communication professionals, we know that engaged and informed staff members can be our most powerful communication tool. Yet internal communications can often be neglected or become rote.
Join us for this two-day workshop at the beautiful World Forestry Center in Portland as we dive deep into internal communications. Attendees will leave with fresh strategies and concrete ideas about how to create a more engaged, informed, and ignited internal audience.

Keynote for Thursday, April 25

Changing Hearts and Minds (and Culture) with Storytelling
Dawn Hagen and Aimee Riordan will share how Microsoft is helping employees find their passion and purpose, with examples and takeaways to help employers big and small build a more engaged workforce.

Keynotes for Friday, April 26

Internal Communication in a Crisis
Daniel Thigpen, Director of Communication and Community Engagement, will offer insights about how to communicate with internal audiences during a crisis. Thigpen will be joined by a panel to debrief a recent incident.

Move, Sing and Smile: Why Your Internal Communications Must Have Action to Create Conversation
