Each Fee is per family $10 with your own transportation to the island / $15 to use our transportation/canoe/kayak.

Registration begins at 8:30 am and we will be launching at 9:00 am. Youth and adults will then kayak or canoe 2.21 miles down the historic Shingle Creek to Makinson Island in Lake Tohopekaliga. Once arrived on Makinson Island, families will have the opportunity to bring your own picnic lunch, a guided tour on the nature walk and other activities led by 4-H Clubs. After enjoying time on Makinson Island,
4-H families will then kayak or canoe back up Shingle Creek to the Marsh Road access point.
For those families who are unable to join us by kayak or canoes, they will be invited to join by motor boat. However, motor boats must be launched from the Kissimmee Lakefront.
We are trying to provide transportation for those residents who do not own a motor boat and are unable to kayak or canoe.
If attendee does not have a 4-H Participation form on file with the Osceola County Extension Services, please complete the form using 4-H Online and print the Participation Form. The Parent/Legal Guardian and attendee will need to sign and bring form to event, deliver to: Loretta Hunt, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
