Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest"
Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM (EDT)
The Importance of Being Earnest
Presented in the Hedrick Little Theater
Written by Oscar Wilde
Directed by Kurt Corriher
Mistaken identity, doomed efforts to deceive, dramatic irony- all the standard ingredients of comedy, infuse this great English classic. Yet it’s Oscar Wilde’s mordant wit that makes The Importance of Being Earnest as topical today as it was a hundred years ago.
The satire of upper-class English society has lost none of its sting, and Wilde’s virtuosity with the English language remains unsurpassed.
Earnest is biting, laugh-out-loud comedy with a serious lesson for those willing to peek beneath the humor.
