About this event

Leading with Authenticity in Turbulent Times

With Susan Skjei, Ph.D.

Today’s turbulent times call for leaders who have the strength to be authentic and the heart to engage difficult challenges with courage. Join us for a series of 3 focused workshops designed to cultivate well-being and resilience in ourselves and our organizations and to explore the questions that matter to us as CEOs, as leaders, and as human beings such as: How can we navigate in these unfamiliar times? How can we see what is coming more clearly? What is the future we want to create? How can we show up fully for what really matters? How can we engage others authentically? How can we stay brave and persistent in our practice of leadership?

Each session will include an interactive talk, break out groups, large group conversations and time for personal reflection.

Session 1: Taking Stock and Cultivating Resilience

Oct 11, 2021 12:30-2:00 PT

Authentic leadership begins with understanding the context we are in and the new leadership skills that are required to work creatively with disruption and complexity. We then can cultivate resilience in ourselves and our teams so that we are able to respond to the next challenge when it arrives. The process is an exciting journey of celebrating our strengths and uncovering blind spots so that we can be available for the future as it is emerging.

Session 2: Navigating Complexity

Oct 18, 2021 12:30-2:00 PT

In turbulent times we have to build the path even as we walk on it. We will explore how innovation happens differently in this environment and what we can do to remove obstacles and foster creativity in ourselves, our teams and our organizations. Some of the skills we will explore include: claiming the power you have and using it wisely, building connections and a shared purpose, leading from the head and the heart, inclusive communication, decisiveness and fostering trust during constant change.

Session 3: Preparing for ourDisruptive Future

Oct 25, 2021 12:30-2:00 PT

Our economy may be going “back to normal” but the future is no longer what we thought it was. As leaders we need to be able to bet beyond our thoughts and meet the future as it is emerging. How can we sense the signals before they arrive on our doorstep? What are the new ways of listening and seeking information that might give us a competitive edge? How can I build new strengths, networks, communities and sources of insight for myself and my company? What assumptions can I let go of that will free me up to respond to the world as it is? How can I prepare for something that currently seems “unknowable?”
