Event description
Psychologiest John Minus & Wilson McDermut host comedians who perform and talk about the origins and evolution of their jokes.

About this Event

Hosts John Minus and Wilson McDermut bring some of the best comedians in the city to perform and talk about the origins and evolution of their jokes. Wilson and John have graduate degrees in psychology, so get ready to go down the rabbit hole.

John Minus is a comedian, writer, and all-around great guy who lives and breathes his home state of New Jersey. From Psychology to Role-Playing games to Race, John can speak intelligently (but not necessarily sanely) about many topics. Eschewing traditional Black Comedian tropes, John wants to re-invent the image of the Black Comic. A regular at New York Comedy Club, he's performed all over the East Coast.

Wilson McDermut has his doctorate in psychology, and lives and works in New York City, where he performs regularly in clubs and anywhere else that will let him. He has performed across the country from Maine to Missouri. As part of his work with the Gotham Comedy Foundation, Wilson runs monthly comedy shows for patients and their families at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
