The Orientation to Soldering and Electronics course with the Maker Studio will last 2 to 3 hours. This is a beginner course that is geared for anyone of any skill level who is interested in making or understanding electronics and the practice of soldering. We will first discuss policies and procedures that you are expected to adhere to while using Maker Studio equipment. We will then introduce the basics of how electronic projects are put together and operated. We will end with a demonstration of soldering to assemble an electronics project. Questions big and small are welcomed and encouraged by our wonderful staff.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
We welcome adults and teens 16 and up with a valid NPL card
What do I bring to the event?
Have your Norfolk Public Library card available to register you into the Maker Studio access list. Attendees must have a current NPL card in good standing to access the computers and resources in the Slover Creative Studios. Attendees who are not yet NPL patrons may obtain their free card at the Circulation Desk or Concierge Desk on the 1st floor. Visit the NPL website to learn more about library cards and borrowing.
Where is the event located?
The Maker Studio is located in the Selden Arcade at 215 E Plume St. adjacent to the Slover Library.
What if I'm running late to the event?
