Orientation Program for New Staff Employees (April 2017)

This program is designed to help our new staff members understand the essential history, culture, and performance expectations of our unique Berea College workplace. The program combines information, discussion, and activities to help you better understand how your talent and work role fit in the big picture of Berea’s dynamic mission.
Agenda & Subjects:
Being & Becoming – Joining the Legacy of Berea College - We explore the historical and cultural foundations that guide the mission, vision, and organization of Berea College. We will examine how the founding history, the Christian Identity, and the Great Commitments of the College influence today’s College workplace.
Setting the Standards - Being an Effective Berea College Staff Member
Workplace Expectations – how the core values of the institution are translated into a common set of workplace standards for all workers at Berea.
Performance Evaluation – how the annual evaluation process helps clarify the most important work.
Interracial Education - how the College's hisorical commitment to interracial education influences today's Berea workplace.
Sustainability– explore the various ways Bereans do their part to manifest “plain living” in the workplace.
Target Audience: This is a required workshop for new full time new staff employees of the College.
Lunch: This full day program includes lunch. Coffee & light snacks will be available at 8:15 a.m. Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.
