Overcoming the Rape Epidemic on College Campuses: Around 1 in 5 women experience sexual assault at college. Unfortunately, between issues with defining "rape", lack of interest in taking victim’s cases by prosecutors, lenient sentences for convicted rapists and lack of action taken by colleges and universities.... we have a lot of work to do in order to break the cycle of sexual violence among young people in the U.S.

Women in STEM: Women make up 47 percent of the total U.S. workforce, but are much less represented in science & engineering occupations. They comprise 39 percent of chemists and material scientists, 28 percent of environmental scientists and geoscientists, 16 percent of chemical engineers and just 12 percent of civil engineers. There's not one major hurdle to overcome, but hundreds. But if we take it one step at a time, they can all be overcome.
