Description

Incorporating the Best Auction Strategies into your Event

When you pour staff and volunteer time into your fundraiser (and you do), the goal is to maximize the money raised from your efforts. In this highly interactive pop-up workshop, we'll first evaluate the success of your silent and live auction results against industry benchmarks.

You'll find out where your event's strengths and weaknesses are when compared against other events nationally. That way, you'll know what to focus on changing. Bring your auction data -- or at least know your numbers -- to get the most out of this workshop.

Next, we'll dive into those areas that you've identified as needing to improve. You'll see how to boost net profit in silent auctions, live auctions, Fund a Needs, raffles, and games. Or if your guests are the issue, we'll cover strategies for getting better donors in the room. It's really up to you!

This interactive workshop received nearly a PERFECT SCORE at AFP's Planet Philanthropy conference, thanks to its focus on addressing specific problems brought up by participants. Ready to improve? Join us to get started.

Here's what you’ll leave with:

  • 5 trending approaches to keep an auction fresh and interesting
  • 2 techniques for improving the bottom line profitability of an auction fundraiser, regardless of the event’s style
  • How your own auction gala performs when compared against industry benchmarks. You'll see where you’re winning and losing as compared to other events so you'll know what to change at your next fundraiser.

About the speaker:

Sherry Truhlar founded Red Apple Auctions, a boutique firm focused on helping nonprofits run more profitable fundraising auctions. Since building her company from the ground up, thousands of auction planners have registered for her online courses that teach nonprofits how to raise more money using auctions, raffles, games, and old fashioned human psychology.

She works from Hawaii to New York, and has been covered by The Nonprofit Times, Town & Country, The Beacon News, The Washington Post Magazine, Florida’s Sun Sentinel, Northern Virginia Magazine, Martha’s Vineyard Times Missouri Meetings & Events, and other publications. Her Master’s degree is from an Australian university, but she’s originally from rural Kansas. Today she makes her home in the Washington, D.C. area and maintains her bliss by sidestepping the region’s political scene.

Fees: Free for Active C4SC Members | $10 for General Public
